Herndon,
Va. -- The Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) in
Herndon said on Tuesday that it will invest $100,000
in Reston-based Eye Q Development through its Growth
Acceleration Program (GAP). Eye Q develops products
that use magnetic media and RFID technologies to allow
data to be stored on a card, then be inexpensively
read and transferred to a database. The company currently
offers intelligent business cards, various tags, smart
IDs, trade show badges and smart ticketing for sporting
and entertainment events. Eye Q is the 21st investment
to date for CIT's GAP Funds, which are designed to
help Virginia-based technology companies bridge the
gap between self funding and early-stage equity investments.
